Anthony Man, B.Med.Sci., MD, FRCP is CEO of Basilea Pharmaceutica Ltd, Basel, Switzerland. Dr. Man received his medical degree from the University of Nottingham (UK) and also holds an honors degree in Biochemistry. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians. Following many years in academic medicine (internal medicine and medical oncology), Dr. Man has spent over 20 years in the pharmaceutical industry in England, France and Switzerland. He has held a variety of senior operational and managerial positions in several companies including Lederle, Roche, Ciba-Geigy and Novartis where he played major roles in bringing over a dozen new products (such as Lupron®, Prevacid® and Gleevec®) through R&D to the market. He served for 2 years as Chief Development Officer at Basilea before being appointed CEO. At Basilea, Dr. Man took the company public on the Zurich stock exchange and has driven the development of two of it’s products through to international markets. Dr. Man helped Basilea transform from a pure R & D company to a fully integrated company with product sales.
